Welcome to Body Works Cheshire. With over a decade of experience in massage and physical therapy, we combine a holistic approach with comprehensive scientific knowledge to create treatments for you as an individual, caring for both body and well-being.

Your body functions as an interconnected system – if one area is not functioning correctly, it affects everything else. At Body Works Cheshire, we approach your symptoms as part of a complete picture to understand the underlying issues and create more effective solutions for your specific needs.

Offering treatments in multiple locations across Cheshire, “We are ready to support you on your journey to improved health, mobility, reduced pain, and better quality of life.”

We treat clients in their 20s through to 90s for injuries, workplace health issues, clinical conditions, those looking to improve sports performance, post-operative recovery, stress-related tension and more general muscle and joint pain. Specialist treatment areas include headaches and neck pain, TMJ disorder treatment and lymphatic massage/MLD.

Additionally, with experience in various high-intensity sports, including combat, equestrian, and motorsports, we understand the importance of maximising performance through tailored treatment and meeting the demands of the performance athlete.

Hi, I’m Laura, welcome to Body Works Cheshire. I have a background in science and have always had a keen interest in treating the body holistically. In my previous career in equestrian sport, I could see the benefit of massage on horses both mentally and physically.

After several serious falls and having experienced physical hands-on treatment, I felt first hand what great benefit it brought me and started training and learning all I could so others could experience how good they could feel too. Having worked with several different sports, including combat sports, equestrian sports and motorsports, I can understand the needs of the client from a performance perspective.

I believe the body cannot be divided into separate compartments; you are the sum of all your parts, and one part does not work independently of the rest. If one part is not functioning well, it is like ripples in a pond; it affects everything else. When you treat the body, you look at it in its entirety; each part is connected. If you solely treat the part that hurts, you aren’t getting to the root of the problem.

“We advise on lifestyle and health as a part of your journey back to health.”

I treat people in their 20s through to their 90s, from injuries or improvement in sports performance, post-operative recovery, stress-related tension and more general muscular and joint pain. My specialist and favourite areas of treatment are headaches and neck pain, TMJ treatment and Lymphatic massage (MLD).

MASSAGE THERAPIES

No two bodies are alike, just as no two treatments are the same – knowing which treatment best suits the individual’s condition is the most effective means to achieving genuine long-term results. By examining the root cause of symptoms, we can work together to create sustainable improvement for your well-being.

Body Works Cheshire offers a range of generalised clinical massage therapies, including sports massage, which relaxes and loosens soft tissue in the body; deep tissue massage, which deals with overly tight muscles and soft tissue; and trigger point therapy, which is beneficial for those suffering from soft tissue pain and pinpoint pain irritability. If you have a condition where connective tissue is shortened or thickened, then Myofascial Release Massage may be right for you.

HELPING YOUR BODY TO MOVE AND FUNCTION CORRECTLY

We have successfully treated a huge number of clients who presented with debilitating migraines, headaches and neck pain and significantly reduced or completely irradicated their symptoms.  Temporomandibular disorder, referred to as TMJ, can cause pain and stiffness in your jaw, ear and temple; we offer treatment plans to alleviate these symptoms. Lymphatic massage can benefit almost anyone; often referred to as Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), it encourages the flow of lymphatic fluid through the body.

SPECIALIST TREATMENTS

Working with pain can be complex, but with the right causal diagnosis and treatment, you can experience better health sooner. Our additional therapies include Cupping, an ancient Chinese technique useful for stiff or aching joints; dry needling, used to effectively and accurately deal with painful trigger points; and Alpha-Stim® therapy, a scientifically researched electrical therapy device used to reduce pain and improve your range of movement.

Tailored treatment can improve blood circulation, prevent stress on the joints, assist in more efficient fluid drainage, decrease anxiety, and promote relaxation, all of which can help manage life-long chronic conditions. These techniques are often part of a broader therapy that engages with your lifestyle and benefits from positive changes to your daily habits. We are passionate about providing relief through education and supporting clients on their journey.

ABOUT BODY WORKS CHESHIRE

Laura is the founder of Body Works Cheshire. With a background in academic science, she is deeply passionate helping her clients move past pain. Having experienced significant injuries in her earlier equestrian career, massage therapy had a profoundly positive impact on her recovery. Realising the benefit this could have for others, she embarked on a journey of education and practice, which culminated in the founding of Body Works Cheshire.

‘As my client, you are listened to and heard, and your pain is not disregarded. Too often, clients come in with stories of being ignored or told, ‘It’s in your head’ or ‘There is nothing we can do’ or fobbed off with ‘It’s arthritis. Time will be taken to explain the problem, why you feel the way you do and the plan to help get you on the road to recovery. It is your right to know.’

Massage is only one spoke in the wheel of health. One must look at lifestyle, and daily habits to address the bigger picture. So, advice is given where appropriate. Our clients are empowered to take better ownership of their own bodies.
