Myofascial Release
Fascia is a web of elastin, collagen, and water found throughout the body. Injury, scar formation, surgical operations, repetitive movements, and emotional upset can cause the fascia to become tense. To help it unwind and relax, slow, steady tension is held in specific directions for as long as it takes for the tissue to release. This technique allows the body to dictate the pace.
Massage therapists use this technique for conditions where connective tissue is shortened or thickened, such as Fibromyalgia. Alternatively, it is used for people who do not like deeper massage techniques or where anxiety, stress, trauma and emotions have been stored within the body. Sometimes clients experience an emotional release (also known as a somatic release) because they physically hold onto tension and emotions. By allowing physical relaxation, the emotion can begin to be processed.

Laura continues to fix me as my job takes its toll on my body being a fitness instructor. I’ve been seeing her for a year now and she is an invaluable part of my routine. Earlier this year she used a treatment on me called Micro current therapy and the pain I experience in my arthritic hands went away for 2/3 days. I urge anyone to see her if they are suffering as she has a wealth of knowledge at her magical fingertips.
